Wales Governance Centre

Ann became chair of the Wales Governance Centre in April 2015. The Wales Governance Centre is a research unit at Cardiff University. It is based on a partnership between the Department of Politics and International Relations, and Cardiff Law School.

The Centre was established in 1999 in response to the creation of the National Assembly for Wales and its related devolved institutions in order to fully engage with the new system of devolved government. During the Centre’s first ten years, it held a number of events and contributed to research on devolved Wales. In 2009 Cardiff University renewed its commitment to the Centre through the appointment of current Centre Director, Professor Richard Wyn Jones, who was appointed to rejuvenate and further develop the work of the Centre.
